Supported Contact Service
Our Supported Contact Service
Supported contact helps to keep children in touch with parents if trust has broken down or communication is difficult. Parents do not have to meet and several families use the facilities at the same time.
How it Works
Supported Contact is designed to help children maintain meaningful connections with parents when trust has been impacted or communication is challenging. This type of contact provides a safe, neutral environment where children and parents can spend time together without the need for direct supervision or documentation. Multiple families may use the facility simultaneously, creating a relaxed setting where parents can focus on time with their children without added stress.
What to Expect
Supported contact is ideal for families assessed to have lower risks, making it a step forward from fully supervised contact. Although staff or trained volunteers are present to ensure everyone feels comfortable and secure, they do not engage in active observation or record reports. This service aims to offer a safe yet informal setting, allowing children and parents to interact naturally and progress towards greater independence.

F.A.Q. About Our Services
A child contact centre is a safe, neutral place where children of separated families can spend time with their non-resident parent or other family members.
Costs can vary depending on the type of contact service. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation, and we will provide details on any fees involved.
Currently, Voice of the Child Contact Centre does not have specific funding to support families directly. Therefore, our services are self-funded unless the referral is made by social services, in which case the costs might be covered by them. We recommend discussing your situation with your solicitor or your local council to explore any available options.
No, you do not have to meet your ex-partner if you prefer not to. We can arrange staggered arrival times and separate waiting areas.
The type of contact is often determined through discussions between parents, legal advisors, or by a court order. Our role is to support the agreed arrangement in a safe environment.
