Role Summary

Peer Support Volunteers provide emotional and practical support to families, acting as a positive role model. You’ll help families feel heard and understood by sharing resources and offering encouragement throughout their journey.

Responsibilities

  • Offer emotional support and listen to families during visits.
  • Share helpful resources and assist with problem-solving as needed.
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging presence, acting as a supportive peer.
  • Respect confidentiality and boundaries in all interactions.

Skills

  • Empathy, patience, and good listening skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Familiarity with family dynamics or separation challenges is helpful.
