Role Summary
Peer Support Volunteers provide emotional and practical support to families, acting as a positive role model. You’ll help families feel heard and understood by sharing resources and offering encouragement throughout their journey.
Responsibilities
- Offer emotional support and listen to families during visits.
- Share helpful resources and assist with problem-solving as needed.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging presence, acting as a supportive peer.
- Respect confidentiality and boundaries in all interactions.
Skills
- Empathy, patience, and good listening skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a non-judgmental attitude.
- Familiarity with family dynamics or separation challenges is helpful.
