Role Summary
As a Family Support Volunteer, you’ll play an essential role in creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for children and families during supervised contact sessions. You’ll work closely with staff to greet families, help children feel comfortable, and provide light supervision as families engage in structured visits.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and orient families upon arrival.
- Assist in setting up a friendly, child-focused space for contact sessions.
- Provide light support to staff in overseeing interactions and ensuring safety.
- Offer a compassionate presence to families, making children feel at ease.
- Help with room clean-up and reorganization after sessions.
Skills
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude.
- Experience with children or families in a professional or volunteer capacity is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
