Step 1
Begin by reading and making yourself familiar with the different types of contact service provided by NACCC accredited child contact centres.
Types of contact
Step 2
You now need to decide which child contact centre or service you wish to make a referral to by using Find a Contact Centre
Step 3
Contact now needs to be made with the child contact centre or service you have chosen, to determine whether your referral is suitable for that particular centre or service and that they are in a position to accommodate the dates and times you are requesting. For the safety of the staff, volunteers and centre users it is really important that you make appropriate referrals to supported centres – please think carefully before making the referral; are you putting people at risk?
Step 4
Assuming the child contact centre or service you have chosen is able to help you, complete and send a copy of the referral form at least one week in advance of the date you wish contact to commence. Referral forms are available from the child contact centre.
Note:
If no referral address is given in Find a Contact Centre, please contact the referrer via the referral telephone number supplied – do not use the venue address as this may be unsuitable for receiving correspondence.
Step 5
Please notify the centre co-ordinator or manager if there are any changes regarding the arrangements for contact in advance of it commencing.
